Trailer Training B+E
Due to recent changes, you no longer need to do a DVSA test. As from the 16th December 2021 there will be no more B+E driving tests. All B car licence holders are now able to tow a trailer up to a MAM 3500 kg.
The changes have been brought in by the Dvsa, because of the shortages of lorry drivers.
Towing a large Trailer safely, requires a understanding on how to secure and load a trailer correctly. Also reversing a trailer is a completely different skill, and is difficult without training. If people Tow large trailers without training, accidents will increase effecting all road users.
Companies for health and safety reasons, should show they have provided the correct training. Each course will be tailored to your experience. At the end of the course you will receive a certificate, showing you have satisfactorily completed the course.
People who tow caravans, horseboxes etc. and anyone else that tows for leisure, would be advised to do a course, for their own safety and experience. Insurance companies may require you to prove you have completed a course. Whatever the outcome, a course will benefit you, keeping you safe.
You will pleased to know that the cost of the course will be also be cheaper than before, as there are no Test fees, and a course can be completed on the same day. £50 per hour.
We also provide vehicle and trailer for the course, however if your company would rather we did the training with your vehicles that would be fine, as long as you are correctly insured.

One person full 6 hour course with certificate £300
Two person sharing 8 hour course with certificate £200 each
(Full day courses will cover reversing, coupling, uncoupling, motorways and general driving, Loading and vehicle safety.)

Our courses start with a chat with Bryan to work out what experience you have, followed by agreed hours subject to your ability. Once the course date is agreed, you will be given a driver pack explaining what will be required during your training and test.
At the end of the course you will be given a certificate to show you have completed the course.
